Know & Go: Cultivating Community Partnerships

Libraries are in a prime position to faciliate relationships throughout their communities, whether by partnering with local businesses and schools, engaging city departments, or collaborating with other libraries and librarians. This course will identify potential community partnerships, explore ways to develop and promote these relationships inside and outside the library, and teach you how to best engage staff in the development of community partnerships.

  • Define target areas to reach in the community
  • Identify potential community partners to build and promote library services
  • Develop tactics and strategies to help foster partnership and support
  • Identify tools to promote and expand community partnerships
  • Assess the effectiveness of ongoing community partnerships
