The Irving Public Library has the following full-time position available: Children's Librarian

Duties:
Irving Public Library is seeking an innovative, creative and engaging customer service oriented professional librarian to manage the children’s programming team at the South Irving Library. Duties include development of a full range of library services, programs and activities for children, families and caregivers. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, organized and enjoy working with children and families; and capable of developing and conducting original, vibrant programming for children that encourages reading, creative thinking, and promotes the use of the library and its materials. The person hired will work in all areas of the library including regularly staffing the information and circulation desks. This position will supervise subordinate staff. Irving Public Library’s mission is to provide access to information for lifelong learning and promote the enjoyment of reading. With more than one million items checked out annually, the multi-branch Irving Public Library system serves a community of more than 237,000 residents that is home to one of the most diverse Zip codes in the nation.

Education: Possession of Master of Library Science degree from an American Library Association accredited program.

Experience: One year professional or related experience required. Applicants also should have a strong knowledge and appreciation of children’s literature.

Skills: Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills benefical

Pay: Full Range: $4,029 - $5,682 Per Month
