Member Spotlight - University of Central Oklahoma Max Chambers Library

The University of Central Oklahoma library has been an Amigos Library Services member since 1978. Library support and staff take advantage of FREE Amigos member benefits, such as subscription to the RDA Toolkit, participation in our online conferences and Know & Go sessions and take advantage of discounted rates for our training courses. University of Central Oklahoma library also participates in our courier service, Trans-Amigos Express (TAE). This service saves the library money and gives them the potential to connect with 240 TAE libraries and over 600 libraries in Kansas and Missouri (through Kansas Library Express, MALA, and MOBIUS) for ILL. The library also saves money by subscribing to over 12 databases through our vendor partners!

UCO Library is the oldest academic library in the state of Oklahoma, first organized in 1894. The library offers access to millions of articles, and other resources, as well as access to hundreds of specialized databases. The library has 200+ public computers including laptops and iPads and offers study spaces with quiet study areas and group study rooms.

Chambers Library connects the Central community to dynamic resources and services that support transformative learning. The Max Chambers Library is recognized for leadership and excellence in meeting student and faculty needs through personalized assistance, teaching research skills and providing access to scholarly information and state of the art technology. The library preserves a sense of place in the midst of technological change and fills a critical role in the University’s mission as the central provider of scholarly information supporting academic success.
