Is your VHS collection starting to go downhill? Learn how to preserve your collection with Section 108 of the DMCA

Contrary to popular belief, VHS is not considered to be an obsolete format, so what can libraries do when their VHS collection starts going downhill? Section 108 of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (DMCA) allows libraries to make up to three copies of a published work that is damaged/lost/deteriorating after doing their due diligence to determine if a replacement copy can be purchased at a reasonable cost. In this course, we will learn more about Section 108, explain the process of performing a due diligence check, and identify resources and websites you can use to determine if a replacement copy is available.
