Amigos members with Oxford subscriptions please read the message from Oxford:

Upcoming changes to the subject URLs for Oxford Research Encyclopedias (OREs).

You will not need to take any action due to this change. Oxford does not expect this change to affect your access to the OREs, and no change to proxy stanzas will be required. Oxford expects this change to improve customer experience for individual subscribers and those using library card access.

On November 27, 2018 all ORE discipline URLs will change from discipline.oxfordre.com/... to oxfordre.com/discipline/...

For example, literature.oxfordre.com will become oxfordre.com/literature

Additionally, all of its subsidiary URLs will also change, for example:
literature.oxfordre.com/view/10.1093/acrefore/9780190201098.001.0001/acrefore-9780190201098-e-824

Will change to:
oxfordre.com/literature/view/10.1093/acrefore/9780190201098.001.0001/acrefore-9780190201098-e-824

Why is this change happening?
To improve the log-in experience for our non IP authenticated users, allowing them to sign-in once to access all the OREs. This will be of particular benefit for individual subscribers and those using library card or shibboleth access.

Will you need to do anything?
No action is required to support this change, and we have ensured that:

  • Redirects will be in place to convey users to the new locations
  • Existing proxy settings will remain valid, including EZProxy stanzas
  • Our discovery service partners are on board so your services should transition seamlessly

In the New Year, we will update you with more information about updated stanzas, MARC records and KBART files.

A Frequently Asked Questions document about these updates is available here.
Oxford expects this to be a seamless transition, but please do reach out to Oxford if you have questions concerning this change.
