Library Management: Change Management

Libraries are constantly changing and adapting for many reasons. Managers, however, are not always sure how to help their staffs understand and embrace the upcoming changes. This course is designed to help you learn strategies for a successful transition, identify potential pitfalls, and anticipate staff response to a pending change in your library.
 

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain the main drivers of change in most libraries
  • Devise strategies to get all levels of staff involved in bringing forth change
  • Develop and implement a consistent approach to proposing change in your library
  • Measure the success of the change once fully implemented

Target Audience:
Librarians and managers who need to prepare library staff for adapting to change.

None

  • Students will participate in class discussion and complete individual assignment.
  • It is designed for individual participation; each individual must register.
