Introduction to Open Access Publishing

In recent times, open access publishing has been gaining popularity in the scholarly community from funders, research organizations, universities, publishers, and researchers due to it making research accessible to all. So what exactly is Open Access Publishing (OA) and how is it different from the traditional form of academic publishing? This workshop will provide an overview of OA Publishing, including types of OA policies, resources to evaluate publishers and journals, and how OA can promote your research.

  • Understand the key stages in open access publishing
  • Differentiate between the various open access policies
  • Evaluate and promote open access publishers for publication and research
  • Understand how open access differs from traditional academic publishing

  • It is designed for individual participation; each individual must register.
