Introduction to Scholarly Metrics
Scholarly metrics is a rapidly evolving area of scholarly communication. Attendees will grasp an introductory overview of bibliometric indicators, citation-based metrics, and altmetrics. Apply freely available sources and tools to use scholarly metrics appropriately and responsibly.
Learning objectives for this session include:
- Understand the data underpinnings of the different types of scholarly metrics
- Identify emerging trends in scholarly metrics and scholarly communication
