Research and Instruction Librarian/Assistant Professor for Arts & Media (tenure-track), 12-month position.
Sam Houston State University (SHSU) Library is seeking an innovative, enthusiastic individual interested in providing general and specialized reference services for the university community, and participating in user-centered, subject-specific library instruction in both face-to-face and online settings. Responsibilities include teaching library instruction classes for both undergraduate and graduate students, providing reference assistance, and participating in collection development.

Located in the Piney Woods region of East Texas and approximately an hour’s drive north of Houston, Huntsville provides residents with a sense of community and belonging in close proximity to metropolitan amenities.
Required Qualifications: A degree from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited master’s program is required and must be awarded by August 1, 2022.
Preferred Qualifications: Undergraduate or graduate coursework or academic library experience in art, mass communication, or theatre and musical theatre
Compensation: Starting salary for this position at the assistant professor rank is commensurate with education and experience.
