Is academic social networking the new wave of student-teacher communication?

Social networking tools have become an integral part of our daily lives. Recently, Academic Social Networking Sites (ASNS) have attracted global users, proving a useful tool for academic research activities. But there still seems to be some resistance among users as some researchers do not use ASNSs at all.
