Amigos is happy to announce that Nicole Engard will kick off our September 17 online conference, "Open Source Software and Tools for the Library and Archive." Nicole will begin her talk entitled Open Your Mind: Open Source and Libraries with an introduction to open source and why it’s a great option for libraries and archives. Additionally, she will speak about her own experiences with open source and the importance of going into the community to increase awareness of open source offerings for libraries.
Engard is Vice President of Community Outreach at ByWater Solutions. Her primary role is to educate librarians about open source software, with a focus on the Koha Integrated Library System. She keeps the library community up to date on web technologies via her website, "What I Learned Today..."
