Amigos Library Services Courier Service offers low-cost pickup and delivery of ILL items among participating libraries. TAE participation benefits libraries in the following ways:

Fast Delivery

Most deliveries take place within 48-72 hours, even when items are sent across state lines. Packages are sent in distinctive purple nylon bags provided at no extra cost to participating libraries; making packaging efficient and economical.

Economy

TAE libraries save thousands of dollars on packaging and shipping with our flat-rate annual fee, and best of all, that means your ILL shipping costs are set for the year. For more details, please contact TAE at tae@amigos.org or 800-843-8482.

Community

Join TAE and become part of a community of over 240 libraries that are excited to share resources with you! Browse our participant list to see which of your borrowing partners are already participating.

Connections

TAE connects to the Mid-America Library Alliance, MOBIUS, and Kansas Library Express (KLE) courier services, providing access to over 600 additional libraries in Missouri and Kansas for no additional fee. No matter what level of service you choose, you will be able to ship to this extended circle of participating libraries.

Flexibility

TAE offers standard and customized service plans to fit your ILL shipping needs:

  • Our standard courier plan offers three levels of service: five days, three days, or two days per week. With standard service libraries can send and receive materials to all of the TAE and TExpress participating libraries plus our connecting partner libraries.

  • Custom service plans are designed to fit your intra-lending needs between your library system branches or campuses. A customized service plan allows you to have a closed system plan (send and receive items only between your system libraries/branches) or have an open service plan (include ILL lending to other participating TAE/TExpress libraries and connecting partner libraries).

Contact TAE at tae@amigos.org or 800-843-8482 for more information.

TExpress is funded by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services through a grant to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
