Jeffry Archer Appointed to Amigos Library Services Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of Amigos Library Services (Amigos) has appointed Jeffry Archer, Dean of Libraries, Museums, and the Press, Baylor University (Texas) to serve as a member of the Board. Archer will complete the term vacated by Dr. Lea Briggs, University of New Mexico.    

For any vacancy on the Amigos Board of Directors, the Board may appoint and approve a replacement. Archer will serve until the end of Briggs’ elected term, May 2026. 

"The Board of Directors is very pleased to welcome Jeffry Archer to this leadership role with Amigos Library Services,” said Britt Anne Murphy, Chair of the Amigos Board. “And we thank Lea Briggs for her years of service on the Board and wish her all the best in her new role in the University of New Mexico’s Provost Office."

Jeffry Archer was appointed Dean of University Libraries at Baylor University in June 2020. Archer served in research libraries in New York (SUNY Albany), Chicago (The University of Chicago), and Montreal, Canada (McGill University). In the course of his career, he has been a bibliographer in the areas of Business and Economics and has worked for many years in the area of user services in academic libraries.
