11 March 2021, Dallas – A new agreement has been announced today providing for a broad set of higher education institutions, across the South Central and Southwest Regions of the United States, to support vital open access library infrastructure at a substantial discount.

Amigos Library Services Launches its 100th SimplyE Library: The Lake Whitney Public Library

Dallas, TX – Amigos Library Services (Amigos) recently welcomed Lake Whitney Public Library of Texas as its 100th SimplyE service client. Last year the consortium began offering the SimplyE service in Texas and Missouri and now hosts libraries in several states. Throughout SimplyE's growth, Amigos has provided not only hosting services, but development, technical and patron documentation, and training for library staff. Currently available to public libraries, development continues for academic library hosting.

Dallas, TX – The Board of Directors of Amigos Library Services (Amigos) is pleased to announce that Miguel Figueroa will serve as President and Chief Executive Officer of Amigos Library Services beginning September 14, 2020. In concert with the Board of Directors, Miguel will provide leadership for one of the largest library cooperatives of public, academic, state and special libraries in the United States. Figueroa will lead a staff of 23, administer an annual revenue budget of $14 million, and oversee diverse membership programs that include Consulting and Education Services, Member Discount Services, SimplyE, Association Management Services, Online Events by Amigos and an extensive courier program as well as related resource sharing programs for members.
