St. Louis County Library (SLCL) recently won the 2025 Jerry Kline Community Impact Prize in recognition of its outstanding collaboration with local government and the community, awarded by Library Journal. The award, presented in partnership with the Gerald M. Kline Family Foundation, includes a $250,000 grant and a feature in LJ’s February issue.
Amigos Library Services member SLCL utilizes Amigos services such as the Job Bank and Member Discount Services for databases and journals to enhance its offerings and better serve the community.
SLCL Director & CEO Kristen Sorth highlighted the library’s transformative role in the region, emphasizing its commitment to removing barriers and expanding access to services. SLCL provides essential resources such as meals, technology, tutoring, and social services. Library Journal’s Executive Editor, Lisa Peet, praised SLCL’s impact on issues such as food insecurity and digital equity, noting its ability to listen and respond to community needs.
