Digital Media Librarian -- Lyon College -- Batesville, AR

Location

Lyon College seeks a well-qualified Digital Media Librarian with a start date in summer of 2025. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, growing institution committed to inspiring curiosity and fostering critical and deep thinking in a liberal arts environment. The salary range is $42,000-$50,000, depending on a candidate’s experience. 

Qualifications:

  • An ALA-accredited Master of Library Science degree or equivalent
  • A working knowledge of electronic information resources and systems and their application to research and reference
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, X, etc.)
  • Support for the educational mission of Lyon College
  • Any of the following would significantly enhance a candidate’s application:
    • Service as an academic librarian
    • A second master’s degree
    • Experience in the use of the OCLC WorldShare integrated library system
    • Experience cataloging digital resources
    • Working directly with electronic/digital vendors
    • Collaborating with users to solve problems 

Responsibilities 

  • The successful candidate will:
  • Maintain the library’s digital resources
  • Manage the library’s social media accounts to promote and illustrate library services
  • Collaborate with constituencies across campus to provide assistance, support, and education about the library’s resources
  • Organize outreach, activities, and events, that complement the academic mission of Lyon College
  • Engage with the college community as an active member of our shared governance system through the Staff Assembly
