Foundations of Intellectual Freedom
Libraries often must justify collection decisions and find creative ways to remove barriers to access. Attaining a broad understanding of intellectual freedom as a professional value will strengthen librarian’s ability to navigate challenges and implement effective policies.
Learning Objectives:
- Evaluate library policies and procedures for inclusiveness and protection of patron privacy.
- Apply the 5 steps to having purposeful conversations about intellectual freedom issues when responding to users and coworkers.
Session Duration:
This course consists of one 3-hour live session.
