Preservation of Photographic Materials
Preserving the visual record is one of the most important roles of cultural heritage institutions. This workshop deals with the unique challenges of preserving and caring for a photograph collection.
This workshop covers:
- Care and handling of photographic material
- Photograph composition
- History and identification of cased materials, negatives & prints
- Color of materials
- Photographic deterioration
- Special issues regarding storage
- Preservation of photo albums & scrapbooks
Homework Expectations and Completion Requirements:
- It is designed for individual participation; each individual must register.
