Reaching Students and Patrons Where They Are: Developing An Online Presentation Series
In this course, librarians and all staff who interact with students or patrons virtually, will learn important tools to help develop their own strategy to combat this rising issue. Emily Scharf and Judy Geczi of Webster University will explain how they built a series of online presentations for their institution to help teach online and distance education students important information literacy skills. Learn about the programs and techniques they used for developing a marketing strategy, selecting webinar topics, and more, to help create a plan for your institution.
Learning Objectives:,
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
- select topics for webinars that support information needs of their patrons
- design a marketing plan for webinars
- identify assessment opportunities to support future decisions surrounding webinars, such as topic selection and effective marketing strategies
Target Audience:
This course is targeted to all librarians and staff who interact with students and patrons on a virtual or distance education platform.
