ProQuest Resurrects the Statistical Abstract of the United States

Amigos is partnering with ProQuest to offer the digital version of the Statistical Abstract of the United States. This popular resource was previously maintained and published by the U.S. Census Bureau, who announced last spring it would no longer be produced at the government’s expense. ProQuest Statistical Abstract of the United States will be available this fall.

Amigos members who subscribe will receive a minimum of 15% off of list pricing, with further discounts determined by the total amount of Amigos libraries (at least 20 institutions) that commit to purchase by November 15. To join the group purchase, contact me no later than October 31, 2012. At that time, I will send an update to participating libraries about the discount and lower pricing available through Amigos.

To access the Q&A that provides an overview of this resource. The digital version will include:

• monthly updates to tables
• deep searching at the line-item level
• powerful facets for narrowing search results
• image and spreadsheet versions of all current and historical tables
• links to provider sites

The digital Statistical Abstract will be available as a stand-alone service or as a fully integrated part of ProQuest Statistical Insight, a comprehensive collection of statistical publications, including a million plus tables, covering subjects in economics, business, market research and the social sciences.
