Amigos to Participate in Fall Library Conferences
Amigos will be on hand this fall at a number of state library association annual conferences.
Missouri
Amigos Chief Communications and Membership Development Officer Tracy Byerly and Amigos Member Discount Services Representative Erica Owusu will be in the Amigos booth, #37, at the Missouri Library Association's annual conference, October 3-5, at the University Plaza Hotel and Convention Center, Springfield, MO. The theme for this year is "Missouri Libraries: Inspiration for Life." Amigos is pleased to continue the Missouri Library Network Corporation's partnership with the Missouri Library Association in sponsoring the Ronald G. Bohley Award that recognizes efforts in resource sharing. On October 4, Amigos Chair Jennifer Goodson will co-present the Award with Tracy Rochow Byerly.
Byerly will also represent Amigos at the 12th Brick & Click Academic Library Symposium, October 26 on the campus of Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville.
Illinois
Byerly will also be in attendance at the Illinois Library Association's annual conference, October 9-11, at the Peoria Civic Center, Peoria, IL. Attendees are invited to visit her in Booth 513. The theme for the conference is "Bouncing Higher."
Arkansas
Amigos will exhibit and present four programs at the Arkansas Library Association's annual conference, October 14-16, at the Holiday Inn Convention Center, Springdale, AR. Sunday, October 14, from 2:15-3:05 p.m., Continuing Education Librarian Arta Kabashi will present "Tech Tools for the Reference Desk: How to Build your E-book Collection." Also on Sunday, from 2:15-3:05 p.m., Amigos' Continuing Education Librarian Christine Peterson will present "Playing Catch-up with Technology."
Monday, October 15, from 11:00-11:50 a.m., Amigos' Imaging Field Services Officer Bill Walker will present "Semantic Web and the Future of Metadata." Tuesday, October 16, from 10:00-10:50 a.m., Peterson will present "Finding Free Books."
Nebraska
Amigos will be an exhibitor and program presenter at the 2012 Mountain Plains Library Association/Nebraska Library Association/Nebraska School Librarians Association Tri Conference, October 17-19, at the LaVista Conference Center in LaVista, NE. The theme for this year's conference is "Back to The Basics: Building The Future." Amigos Imaging & Preservation Service Manager Gina Minks will staff the exhibit booth and present "The Future of Preservation: Sustainability of Collections," Thursday, October 18, from 8:00-8:50 a.m.
