On the Road Again! Amigos to Participate in Three State Conferences in April
Amigos is hitting the road for three state conferences next month.
Oklahoma
Amigos will be in Ardmore, OK, April 3-5 for the Oklahoma Library Association's annual conference at the Ardmore Convention Center. Conference attendees are encouraged to stop by and visit with Amigos' staff in Booth 18.
Thursday, April 4 at 11:00 a.m., Imaging Field Services Officer Bill Walker will present Metadata Futures: The Semantic Web. Friday, April 5 at 4:00 p.m., Continuing Education Librarian Tim Prather will present OCLC's WorldShare ILL. Session locations will be listed in the conference program.
New Mexico
April 17-19, Amigos will be on hand at the New Mexico Library Association's annual conference in Albuquerque. Amigos will be exhibiting in Booth 12 at the conference site, the Albuquerque Sheraton Uptown Hotel.
Thursday, April 18, at 1:30 p.m., Imaging Field Services Officer Bill Walker will present Metadata Futures: The Semantic Web. Bill will explain the Semantic Web and provide examples of how this technology is influencing changes in metadata experienced by information professionals from librarians to archivists and others. Texas
April 24-27, Fort Worth plays host to the Texas Library Association's annual conference. Stop by and visit with Amigos' staff in Booth 2408 at the Fort Worth Convention Center, site of this year's conference.
Thursday, April 25, at 2:00 p.m. Continuing Education Librarian Christine Peterson will serve as co-presenter for Career Options outside Traditional Libraries. This presentation will outline how information professionals can find rewarding careers outside of library settings with organizations that find hiring librarians makes their operations more successful.
