Amigos Members Named 2013 RUSA Award Winners
Libraries in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas were among the 2013 winners of the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA) achievement awards, research and travel grants recently announced. The awards encompass the most outstanding librarians, libraries, and projects in the field, and also highlight the promising leaders of tomorrow. Winners will be honored at the RUSA Achievement Awards Reception and Volunteer Appreciation Party, June 30 in Chicago.
Achievement Awards:
- ABC-CLIO Online History Award: "Community and conflict: The impact of the Civil War in the Ozarks," a project headed by Brian Grubbs, local history and genealogy department manager in the Springfield-Greene County (MO) Library District
- Genealogical Publishing Company Award: Janice Schultz, manager of the Midwest genealogy center at the Mid-Continent Public Library (MO)
- RSS Service Achievement Award: Larayne Dallas, engineering librarian at the University of Texas at Austin
Travel and Research Grant Winner:
- STARS/Atlas Systems Mentoring Award: Daniel Chesney, interlibrary loan and acquisitions coordinator of Southern Nazarene University (OK)
