September Online Conference to Focus on Preservation Fundamentals
Have you been tasked with preservation of your library's collection but haven't had the opportunity to learn basic preservation practices and techniques? If this describes your situation, the September 19 Amigos online conference, “Preservation: Back to Basics” is perfect for you or for those wanting to brush up on the fundamentals of collection preservation. With over 15 sessions, this one-day online conference will provide a solid base to build your preservation knowledge.
"We have been receiving increasing numbers of calls from our members regarding basic preservation issues,” said Gina Minks, Imaging and Preservation Manager. "The need for ground-floor knowledge was clearly there, and we wanted to meet that need." The conference will help fill training gaps for staff being asked to perform preservation duties with little or no previous formal training. Gina said, "We feel 'Back to Basics' will provide attendees a firm foundation of fundamentals on which to move forward."
Amigos online conferences offer participants numerous advantages, including access to every session. "The thing I love about our online conferences is that when you register, you have access afterwards to all the session recordings," Gina said. "You don’t need to miss anything!"
Visit the conference webpages for complete conference information, or contact Gina at 800-843-8482, ext. 2825, or minks@amigos.org with any questions.
Don't forget to register soon! Early bird discounted registration runs through September 6. If you are unable to attend the conference, the recordings can be purchased for a nominal fee.
