The Geek the Library community awareness campaign has helped public libraries across the country create awareness, generate engagement and encourage action.

The program, funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is designed to highlight the vital role of public libraries and raise awareness about the critical funding issues many face. Geek the Library provides the tools to help library leadership and staff actively engage with the community and start local conversations—improving critical communication and advocacy skills. Taking a light-hearted approach to a serious message has made the campaign a success! The campaign is designed with flexibility, so any library of any size with any resources can participate.

Enrollment is open until June 2014, with full support through June 2015. For more information about Geek the Library, visit get.geekthelibrary.org or register for two upcoming informational webinars.
