Amigos to Offer Library Support Services

At its recent meeting, the Amigos Board of Directors approved a comprehensive program for support and assistance for member libraries. The new Amigos Library Support Service will ultimately be available to any staff member in any Amigos member library and will call upon Amigos long-term expertise in providing various types of support services to libraries.

Staff members of Amigos member libraries will be able to obtain advice and brief consultations by phone and e-mail on all aspects of library operations. The service, exclusively for Amigos Members and free of charge, will include advice, referral and resources delivered by phone and e-mail. Topics will include library management, operations, buildings, services, outreach, technology, planning, e-books, library standards, new trends and more. Over the next few weeks, Amigos will define the scope of the expanded service, develop and document expansion and communication plans, and fine-tune processes.
