"Reference and Information Services" Coming in May
Need an introduction to or refresher on reference services? This class is for you. "Reference and Information Services" will introduce you to key concepts and tools necessary in information access and delivery.
Upon completing this class, you will be knowledgeable about the application of core reference principles and information technologies as they relate to daily activities of library and information providers. This course also explores and analyzes real-world reference issues as they pertain to resource selection, user privacy, and confidentiality.

This in-depth class meets the requirements for American Library Association Library Support Staff Certification [ALA-LSSC] for the Reference and Information Services elective.
LSSC Students who complete this class are eligible to receive a certificate that can be added to their Candidate Achievement Record. The LSSC Program is an ALA-approved program that recognizes the achievement of support staff who work in libraries. It is based on 10 competency sets or skills appropriate for academic and public library support staff.
