Viewpoint from the Chair - January, 2014

I'm pleased to be able to tell you about two new member benefits that were approved by the Amigos Board at our most recent meeting, November 22, and are now available to all Amigos Members.

First, in order to encourage and facilitate member adoption of the new Resource Description and Access (RDA) cataloging standard, Amigos will now cover the cost of an RDA Toolkit subscription with one simultaneous user. Check out the details of this exciting new member benefit on the Amigos website!

Second, to make the excellent learning opportunities from Amigos more broadly available, we are now offering the staff at all Amigos member institutions free attendance to all Amigos topical live online conferences. As most of you know, the annual online Amigos Member Conference has been offered free of charge to Amigos Members for several years. We are now expanding this valuable free member benefit to include all of our online conferences.

By the way, the next Amigos online conference is about RDA, coming February 20. Be sure your cataloging colleagues know about this conference and that it's free to Amigos Members!
