We Want You! Calling for Speakers: "Striking a Balance: Positive Practices in Libraries" Amigos Member Conference
Conference Date: May 14-15, 2014
Amigos Members: Admission is free!
To strike a balance between two things, it is important to look at all parts of the equation in order to satisfy the demands of both sides. Finding balance is the key to solving problems, making decisions, and overall management of our lives and our library careers.
Amigos invites you and your colleagues to submit proposals to speak at our thought-provoking online Amigos Member Conference. Share with others how you have managed to strike a balance and how this balance contributes to overall success in your life and in your library.
Possible presentation topics include:
- Work/Life balance
- Balancing online and in-person formats
- Individual/community focus
- Balancing budgets
- Automation (self-service)/personal touch
- Managing the library like a business/managing the library like a social services agency
- What's the library's role in safekeeping the culture’s record of thought/turning into a principally services institution
- E content/P content
- Created content/Purchased content (think e-books)
Online events eliminate your travel time by allowing you to present from the comfort of your office. Also, don’t worry if you’ve never presented online; it’s easy and we are happy to train you.
If you can speak on one of the topics or have another idea in mind, please submit your proposal by clicking here.
The deadline for proposals is March 14.
