MCPL Named 2014 IMLS National Medal Finalist

Amigos member Mid-Continent Public Library, Independence, MO, has been named one of 30 finalists for the National Medal for Museum and Library Service for 2014. The award honors outstanding institutions that make significant and exceptional contributions to their communities. Selected institutions demonstrate extraordinary and innovative approaches to public service, exceeding the expected levels of community outreach.

This is MCPL’s first nomination for the award, now in its 20th year. Winners will be announced this spring and honored later at a ceremony in Washington, DC.
