Amigos welcomes new vendor partner SIPX
Amigos and SIPX have partnered to offer members a content distribution process that will guarantee they distribute legal content to their patrons.
SIPX lowers the cost of materials for students by ensuring they benefit from existing library subscriptions (no more double payments). It provides the library, faculty, and administration with insight into spending and usage, reducing liability and friction from copyright (mis)management, and improving staff productivity.
Using SIPX is fast and easy since it’s a cloud-based web service. It integrates with all major LMS platforms and can be used on a standalone basis as well. Applications for the SIPX service include both on-campus and online education such as E-reserves, full-course reading lists, MOOCs, continuing studies, distance education, bookstores and other initiatives that involve delivering digital content to students in a rights-aware manner.
The company builds on years of research from Stanford University at the intersection of law and technology. During its research phase, SIPX was known as the Stanford Intellectual Property Exchange.
SIPX has scheduled the informational webinar “Learn About Using SIPX In Your Library” for July 23 and July 30.
