Upcoming Know & Go Sessions: "Teens Create in the Library using Makerspaces and Maker Labs" and "Providing Services to People with Disabilities"
Amigos will offer two informative Know & Go sessions in the coming weeks: "Teens Create in the Library using Makerspaces and Maker Labs," and "Providing Services to People with Disabilities."
"Teens Create in the Library using Makerspaces and Maker Labs" is scheduled for September 22 from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. CDT. Join Public Library Specialist Lynne Craddock for this hour long session to learn how Makerspaces or maker labs can be a great programming tool to engage young adults in the library. This session will focus on makerspaces for teens and young adults; what they are and how they can be creative DIY spaces where teens gather to create, invent and learn. Register on the Amigos website.
"Providing Services to People with Disabilities" is scheduled for October 20 from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. CDT. Attend this informative session presented by Continuing Education Librarian Arta Kabashi to learn about all aspects of conceptualizing and delivering services to people with disabilities. Topics covered include implementing Universal Design spaces in your library, defining types of research assistance, identifying assistive technologies, building programs which target people with disabilities, and identifying ADA compliant databases. Librarians from all types of libraries are encouraged to attend. Register on the Amigos website.
