NEH Publishes PAG Guidelines for Smaller Institutions
The National Endowment for the Humanities has published guidelines for its Preservation Assistance Grants for Smaller Institutions program.
Preservation Assistance Grants help small and mid-sized institutions – libraries, museums, historical societies, archival repositories, cultural organizations, town and county records offices, and colleges and universities – improve their ability to preserve and care for their significant humanities collections.
Awards of up to $6,000 support preservation-related collection assessments, consultations, and institutional and collaborative disaster and emergency planning. Applicants must draw on the knowledge of consultants/specialists whose preservation skills and experiences are related to the types of collections and the nature of the activities on which their projects focus. Training and workshops that focus on the preservation of collections are also supported by Preservation Assistance Grants.
Grant guidelines are available on the NEH website. The grant application deadline is May 5, 2015. Contact Preservation and Collections Care Specialist Carmen Cowick, cowick@amigos.org or 800-843-8482, ext. 2844, to see how Amigos can help.
