Candidates for 2015 Amigos Board of Directors Election Announced

The Amigos Nominating Committee has announced the slate of candidates for election to the Amigos Library Services Board of Directors. Candidate and voting information is being sent to the designated Voting Representatives of Amigos member institutions as part of an upcoming Call to Meeting mailing.

Amigos Secretary and Nominating Committee Chair Jennifer Goodson, Fort Smith, AR, reported the slate of candidates for the May election, which includes the following:

Candidates for Board of Directors (Librarian) – three to be elected for a three-year term:

  • Mr. Ruben Aragon, Director of Library and Information Services, New Mexico Highlands University
  • Ms. Cynthia Childrey, Dean and University Librarian, Northern Arizona State University
  • Mr. Dean Covington, Library Director, Lyon College, Batesville, AR
  • Ms. Sheila Johnson, Dean of Libraries, Oklahoma State University
  • Ms. Donna McDonald, Director, Arkansas River Valley Regional Library System
  • Ms. Jennifer Strayhorn, Library Director, Texarkana Public Library (AR/TX)

Candidate for Independent Director – to be elected for a three-year term:

  • Mr. Benjamin H. Shipley III, Attorney, Robertson, Beasley, Shipley & Redd, PLLC, Fort Smith, AR

Candidate for Librarian Director – to be elected for a one-year term:

  • Ms. Linda Morgan-Davis, Assistant Director, Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Library System
