IGI Global offers free access to article on cloud computing
Cloud computing offers an innovative and promising vision for Information and Communications Technology. It provides the possibility of improving IT systems management and is changing the way in which hardware and software are designed, purchased, and utilized.
Even though cloud computing provides compelling benefits and cost-effective options for Global Software Development (GSD), advanced risks and difficulties must also be taken into account. During January, IGI Global is offering open access to "Cloud Computing for Global Software Development: Opportunities and Challenges." The article presents a study on the risk issues involved in cloud computing. Highlighting the different types of risks and how their existence can affect GSD, author Thamer Al-Rousan (Faculty of Science and Information Technology, Isra University, Amman, Jordan) also proposes a new risk management process model that employs new processes for risk analysis and assessment. The aim of this study is to analyze cloud risks quantitatively and, consequently, prioritize them according to their impact on different GSD objectives.
