Amigos Association Management Services to provide support for upcoming conferences
Amigos Association Management Services (AMS) will be handling the arrangements for two conferences later this year.
August 24-25, Amigos will produce The Conference on The Purpose-Based Library at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Kansas City, MO. Keynote speakers for the two-day conference are Amigos Board Chair Steve Potter and John J. Huber. In 2015, Potter and Huber co-authored the book, "The Purpose-Based Library: Finding Your Path to Survival, Success, and Growth," which they will discuss and around which the conference is centered. A summary of the book on the ALA website notes: "Huber and seasoned public library administrator Potter build on insight gleaned from decades of experience to demonstrate how libraries can create real growth opportunities through concentrating on their true mission and purpose, and without spending a lot more money. Packed with boots-on-the-ground commentary, this book presents strategies to help libraries survive and succeed."
Conference details and registration information will be publicized as they are confirmed.
Registration is now open for the 2016 Library Marketing Communications Conference, November 16-17 in Dallas at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, site of last year’s conference. Amigos handled arrangements for the inaugural conference last November, including registration, hotel arrangements, and onsite assistance. Amigos staff manned the conference desk at the hotel and performed numerous other duties to ensure the smooth operation of the conference. Amigos also maintained the conference webpages and provided onsite technical support to presenters.
Keith Gaertner, Chief Internal Audit and IT Officer who manages Amigos Association Management Services, says AMS is designed to provide comprehensive logistical support for events such as conferences and tradeshows as well as assistance in other areas including financial management and membership management.
