Heading to Computers in Libraries Next Week?
If you will be in Virginia for the Computers in Libraries conference, make sure to attend the SimplyE App: Implementing an Intuitive Interface session presented by Amigos Library Services Continuing Education Librarian, Christine Peterson, and St. Mary's County Library (MD) Director, Michael Blackwell.
The session is on Wednesday, April 18 from 4:30pm – 5:15pm CDT. Discussion will include how the SimplyE app provides an intuitive interface for public library patrons, creating a union catalog across major ebook aggregators, while hiding the aggravation of DRM behind a simple library card log in.
It is an open source project and many organizations have worked with its primary developer, New York Public Library, to develop and implement this solution. Join Christine and Michael as they discuss the app’s functionality, the implementation process, lessons learned, and the status of each of their projects.
