Writing for the Web
Creating and sharing successful web-content is a multi-step process. It starts with the basics of reading and writing and asking questions such as "How do we read on the web?" and "Do we read on the web at all?"
To help you improve your writing, in this session we will examine writing techniques to make your website easily readable and scannable. We will define "trigger words" and their significance to scannable websites and identify effective headings and page titles. With the base established, we will finally go over how shortening sentences increases a website's readability and discuss ways to simplify complex writing.
