Monika Antonelli to Keynote Going Green @ Your Library 2: Working Green, Teaching Green

The keynote speaker for the forthcoming online conference "Going Green @ Your Library 2: Working Green, Teaching Green" will be Monika Antonelli, co-editor of the forthcoming Greening Libraries (Library Juice Press, 2011) and Reference/Instruction Librarian at Minnesota State University Mankato. The conference will be held on November 3 from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. CDT.

In addition to the keynote session, speakers from other libraries will be focusing on:

  • Working Green - Working Green will focus on the green practices implemented in libraries. Some of the areas of interest include green library buildings/renovations, green IT, green practices in the library (e.g. green ILL, green Cataloging).
  • Teaching Green – Teaching Green will emphasize ways that your library can show others in your community how to be green. Topics might include green programming at the library, how your library facilitates research in environmental topics, and green by example: how your library leads others to implement green practices.

Registration for our online conference will open on September 27. A complete agenda for the conference will be available in early October.
