Administrative Changes at Amigos: Tracy Byerly Accepts Appointment as Interim CEO

Following a meeting between representatives from the Amigos Board of Directors and Alan Kornblau, it was announced that Alan resigned from his position as President and CEO of Amigos Library Services effective October 25, 2019. The Board shared that they are “very grateful for Alan’s service to Amigos, libraries and our communities. We wish Alan well in all of his future endeavors.” The Amigos Board of Directors will initiate a national search for Amigos’ next President and Chief Executive Officer during its November 20, 2019 board meeting.

In light of this change, the Board announced the appointment of Amigos’ Chief Programs Office, Tracy Byerly, as the Interim President and Chief Executive Officer of Amigos Library Services. Following her acceptance of this appointment Byerly issued a letter of introduction to current Amigos members. Byerly shared some of the organization’s recent accomplishments, including: tremendous progress in the development and expansion of the sought-after SimplyE service, successfully transitioned to a new courier company, hiring new trainers and other staff, introducing new courses, welcoming a new Association Management Supervisor and clients. As the Board moves through the process to search for our new President and CEO, we will continue to ensure delivery of the excellent services you value here at Amigos.
