Corey Christians Appointed to Amigos Library Services Board of Directors

Dallas, TX – The Board of Directors of Amigos Library Services (Amigos) has appointed County Librarian and Library Director for the Yavapai County Free Library District Corey Christians to serve as a member of the Board of Directors of Amigos Library Services. Christians, appointed April 6, 2021, will fill a vacancy created when Board member John Walsh resigned.

For any vacancy on the Amigos Board of Directors, the Board may appoint and approve a replacement. Christians will serve until the end of Walsh’s elected term, which is May 2022. Christians will be eligible to stand as a candidate for his own term on the Board of Directors.

"I am delighted that Corey Christians will be joining us. He has a good working knowledge of consortia, and will give us continued representation from Arizona," said Chris LeBeau, Chair of the Amigos Board.

"I am truly honored to be Arizona's voice on the Amigos Board. John Walsh left big shoes to fill, and I will work diligently to makes sure the 519 member institutions that enjoy Amigos services will continue to receive excellent representation from the Copper State," Christians said.

Corey Christians currently holds the position of County Librarian and Library Director for the Yavapai County Free Library District. He was appointed to the position in 2017. Before that, he operated the Yavapai Library Network, a 43-member multi-type library consortium in Yavapai County, Arizona He has served on the Humboldt Unified School District governing Board since 2018; is the acting President and founding member of COPPER (http://www.azcopper.org), a multi-type library purchasing consortium in Arizona; and he is on the Board of Directors for the Yavapai County Education Technology Consortium. Christians received his bachelor’s from Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota, double majoring in Political Science and Speech Communications, with a minor in Computer Programming. He earned his Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Arizona in 2009. He currently resides in Prescott Valley, Arizona with his wife, Heather Christians, and four of their six children.
