Libraries and Streaming Media
Over the past decade, libraries have seen the gradual shift from physical media and audiovisual collections to streaming media. Even though streaming media theoretically provides greater access at any location, there are several factors that need to be considered when acquiring streaming media for your library.
In this workshop we will learn about various streaming media content platforms, licenses, and purchasing models as well as examine how fair use, accessibility, and discoverability impact how patrons use streaming media. Lastly, we will explore ways we can market streaming media and how we can integrate it into library programs.
