Amigos Member Libraries Invited to Apply to the Digital POWRR Peer Assessment Program
Amigos Library Services joined as one of the partners in the Preserving Digital Objects With Restricted Resources (Digital POWRR) project, as it enters Phase 4 of its work. Thanks to generous grant funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services’ Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program, the "Digital POWRR Peer Assessment Program: Empowering Collective Evaluation and Action" grant will help advance digital preservation practices among under-resourced organizations. The grant will enable project staff to develop an innovative training program and community of practice that will bring together digital preservation specialists and cultural heritage practitioners to collaborate in the preparation of digital preservation self and peer assessments.
As a partner in Digital POWRR, Amigos is soliciting applications from member libraries to form one of the first cohorts in the project. If you are interested in learning and applying digital preservation assessment procedures – through a supportive, yearlong, cohort-based training program for cultural heritage professionals – apply today! Applications are being accepted through October 31, 2021.
