Find some Joy! Register for Mission: JOY, A panel conversation on creating happiness in troubled times

ProQuest is inviting Amigos members to join in a special live event about creating joy, inspired by the remarkable friendship between His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu as explored in the documentary Mission: JOY. Based on the global best-seller The Book of Joy by author Doug Abrams (panelist) and directed by Oscar® winner Louie Psihoyos, the film provides the foundation for an inspiring and informative conversation about cultivating joy and the groundbreaking science behind it.

Moderated by co-director and producer of Mission: JOY and human rights activist Peggy Callahan, our panel will provide insight into the heartwarming friendship between the Dalai Lama and "Arch" (as he's known to his friends), the connection between difficult times and happiness, the latest research on the impact of joy, and practical ways to find it.

Circumstances don’t control our emotions. We don't have to wait for joy, we can create our own. The Mission: JOY event will offer the opportunity to:

  • Learn how bringing joy into our lives improves our physical and mental health – as proven by science
  • Discover the ways joy has impacted the lives and friendship of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu
  • Become empowered to create and share everyday acts of joy to benefit ourselves and each other
