Columbia University Press Offering March Trials

Columbia University Press is offering free trials for the month of March on Columbia International Affairs Online (CIAO), Columbia Granger’s World of Poetry, and Columbia Gazetteer of the World Online. Amigos offers members a 10% discount on all three resources.

Columbia International Affairs Online
To discover what think tanks are thinking, go to Columbia International Affairs Online, the premiere online aggregator for grey and published literature for virtually all subjects in international affairs. Video content from Council on Foreign Relations and World Leaders Forum debuted in late 2010. Available as an annual subscription.

Columbia Granger’s World of Poetry
This recently relaunched poetry website has been redesigned with both the student and instructor in mind. Instructors can choose from over 250,000 full text poems to create anthologies for course assignments. Students will be able to save poetry as well as commentary and criticism in personal folders. Citation instructions, glossary terms, and poetry in audio gives users from all levels a one-stop shop for their poetry needs. Available as an annual subscription.

Columbia Gazetteer of the World Online
The Gazetteer still serves its core function as an authoritative encyclopedia of geographical places and features. But this revised and expanded edition of the Gazetteer includes updated population data, restructuring of political units within countries, coverage of devastation caused by wars, and of alteration of landscape through natural processes and human activities. Available as a one-time purchase; access fees through December 31st, 2013 included in initial purchase.
