Basic SQL

Structured Query Language, or SQL (sometimes pronounced "sequel"), is a powerful language used to query and manipulate data held in relational databases. Many librarians go through mediated queries, such as conducting a search via a library catalogue, to find needed information. With SQL, database queries can be constructed without the constraints such as field name or search limitations, imposed by a mediated search interface. This course is an introduction to the basics of SQL including terminology, design, working with databases, and working with the PHP scripting language.
