The Amigos Board of Directors is soliciting volunteers to fill two vacancies on the 2015 Amigos Fellowship and Opportunity Award Selection Committee. Committee membership is equally represented geographically, so appointments for 2015 will come from Arkansas and Missouri.
The University of New Mexico Archives, an Amigos member, recently released the UNM Pocket Archivist as an app now available in the Apple iTunes store. The new app is a tour of historic UNM buildings, public art, and the campus arboretum. The project was done in conjunction with the 125th anniversary of UNM in 2014.
Rashad Dickerson is a college student, a homeless man, a convicted felon and, now, the host of his own podcast devoted to exploring homelessness, produced at the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library in downtown Dallas, where the 26-year-old is a frequent visitor and a liaison between the library and its homeless customers.
