Amigos Member Spotlight

We're proud of our Amigos Library Services members and want to recognize the work that they do in their communities. Each month we will be showcasing an Amigos member library or institution. It's a great way for Amigos members, and non-members alike, to learn from and meet colleagues and peers.

Member Spotlight - Pioneer Library System (PLS)

Headquartered in Norman, Oklahoma, the Pioneer Library System (PLS) serves Cleveland, McClain, and Pottawatomie counties through twelve branches in 10 communities as well as Information Stations in rural communities and is governed by a 13-member board of trustees. Materials owned by the library system are accessible to all who live, work, own property or attend school in the service area. Founded in 1958, PLS was the first public library system established in Oklahoma. In this Amigos Member Spotlight, Executive Director Lisa Wells shares history and current services the PLS provides.

Member Spotlight - Webster University Libraries

Founded in 1915 as a Catholic women's college, Webster University is a private, non-profit university now operating as a non-denominational, co-ed institution boasting an FTE of 7,700 with 60 campuses globally. At the time of Webster's founding, very few opportunities for education for women existed. Serving the under-served has long been a focus for the University, which currently excels in providing education to first-generation and minority students as well as military personnel, and was recently recognized for promoting social mobility.
