Amigos Library Services Invites Nominations for Board of Directors

The Amigos Nominating Committee is accepting nominations from individuals interested in serving on the Amigos Board of Directors. The 2023 election ballot, sent to members in April, will include candidates for four positions on the board – three board of directors positions for representatives from member institutions and one board of directors position for an independent representative.

Library Support and Services for First-Generation College Students

College students who are the first in their families to attend college are collectively called first-generation college students. According to the US Department of Education, only 24 percent of first-generation students graduate with a bachelor’s degree compared to 68 percent of students whose parents are college graduates.
