As promised, here is an update on the status of the strategic planning activities that I reported on previously. As I noted last fall, your Board is engaged in the yearlong development of a new strategic plan to guide Amigos over the next 3-5 years. We’re calling it Plan 2020.

One of the most anticipated young adult literary events in the Dallas area takes place this spring in Irving, TX, a Dallas suburb. The inaugural North Texas Teen Book Festival (NTTBF), hosted by the Irving Public Library (IPL), is emerging on the book festival scene with a splash book fans might expect of a more established event.
Prior to the November 13 meeting of the Amigos Board of Directors, Directors and Amigos officers met in Dallas to participate in two days of strategic planning activities. Ideas and input from a September Amigos all-staff meeting were provided to Board members and incorporated into their discussions.
